THE GLOCAL SYMBOL, SPIRIT OF THE LAND EMBRACES THE FUTURE
The site, located in the city of Tripoli, in the proximity of the city center and 0,5 km from the seaside. The building will be nested in a landscaped frame that is planned to be the prolongation of the evolving Green Belt, welcoming the public. As the maximum height of the building is limited to 50 meters, surrounding reflecting pools designed to mirror the building image that its vision doubled and look even more epic, and designates a promenade also with its cooling effect. Tripoli has a wealth of old and new monuments, like the monumental Roman sites in Libya, the impressive contemporary building adds to the vocabulary of the 21st century, as a pride of the nation today. The monolithic appearance of the structure enriches the feeling of security and stability. The solid exterior form of the structure demonstrates the resilient presence of the national banking industry, whereas this powerful skin envelops the transparent inner form of the dynamic organization and the spaces. Behind the inner glass façade, indentations formulate lively terraces and social areas, providing a flexible office atmosphere. Basically four dissimilar, integral masses linked to each other on the margins of an almost square form leaving a patio in the middle, compose the building. The ribs on the outer façades grant a 25% opening, whereas the inner facades overlooking the patio has a %50 opening, as the building masses facing each other naturally create a more shadowy atrium. The roofless atrium serves as a private patio for the building users, to enjoy open air leisure atmosphere, relax and get together informally.
