Adding to the culinary scene of Istanbul, Divan stands out as one of the best-known fine-dining brands within the Divan Hotels chain. Situated with a panoramic view of the wide Bosphorus, the new Divan Brasserie is located at the end of the cultural lane, adjacent to the library and performance hall units of the AKM.
Divan Brasserie Fuaye occupies two floors. The main indoor space of Divan extends to the contour of the below street-level coffee shop, cantilevering towards the back piazza. Long vertical concrete slabs, evenly placed along the entire façade, mimic the main AKM design, providing shade from direct sunlight. Behind the transparent divider, across the bar, the main restaurant kitchen welcomes visitors with its bright interiors. In harmony with AKM’s architectural language and retaining the original design features of the cafes, the design revolves around the juxtaposition of simple materials: wood, glass, marble, leather, and steel.
