URBAN MOTIVATION
Kanyon is designed to be an up market neighborhood where interaction between the dwellers is motivated and all functions of contemporary city life are solved within the complex; which is a model of the new urban life. The tallest building of the complex is the 25 storey office tower, a concrete building sheathed in glass on the boulevard side. The residences with green terraces and roofs, 179 apartments with 20 different floor plans, varying in size from 80sqm to 380sqm, look over the open air shopping valley. Below the 15 storey residential block at split-levels, 4 stories along the site is reserved for the retail space for 170 shops, 9 theaters, a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, bars, sports and spa center, open and closed swimming pool. The 40,000sqm shopping area provides an open, natural street shopping atmosphere for all seasons, resembling traditional İstanbul shopping districts but avoiding the disadvantages of varying weather conditions. Designed by Tabanlıoğlu, Jerde and Arup joint partnership, Kanyon adds modern values to the city of İstanbul, defines new trends and grants a city square and a green, lively pedestrian zone in the heart of the city.
